That’s the principle behind The Calm Series, launching October 16th inside the new App, a collection of guided meditations, yoga nidra, relaxation and sleep hypnosis sessions designed to bring you back to stillness.
The Forgotten Art of Rest
Rest is not an indulgence, it’s an intelligent biological strategy. When we allow the body to slow down, the parasympathetic nervous system, our “rest and restore” mode takes the lead. Heart rate slows, blood pressure drops, muscles soften, digestion improves, and the brain begins its nightly housekeeping: clearing metabolic waste and repairing neural connections. Modern neuroscience shows that periods of calm actually strengthen the brain’s ability to adapt and recover. Regular relaxation and slow breathing increase vagal tone, a measure of how well your nervous system can shift between stress and ease. High vagal tone is linked to better emotional regulation, stronger immunity, and lower inflammation, the biological markers of resilience.
In simple terms: when you practise being calm, you train your body to handle life better.

Psychologists now know that emotional resilience isn’t about never feeling stress;,it’s about recovering faster. When you rest, the brain’s limbic system (our emotional centre) quietens. The prefrontal cortex (the part that makes reasoned choices) reconnects. You literally think more clearly and feel more balanced after rest. In that pause, the mind learns that safety doesn’t depend on control, it grows from connection, breath, and awareness.
